Woman with head injuries found in Gillingham

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was found with head injuries near Addison Close, Gillingham on 30th May.

The emergency services were called at around 12.05am on Saturday, and found the injured woman. She was later taken to hospital, where she received treatment.

A 33-year-old local man was arrested on the suspicion of actual bodily harm. He’s assisting officers with their full investigation. However, Dorset Police investigators are now seeking more information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

We are carrying out a full investigation to establish how the woman came to be injured and I am appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.

I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed or heard a disturbance or any suspicious activity in the area of Addison Close on the night of Friday 29 May 2020. I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area to check their dashcam footage and residents to check any home CCTV for anything relevant that night.

Finally, I would encourage anyone who has come across any discarded items such as clothing in the area to contact us.
