Man arrested for alleged sexual assault of young girls at Bournemouth Beach

In a deeply troubling incident, Dorset Police are investigating two reported sexual assaults that took place at Bournemouth Beach. The victims of the reported assaults were two young girls, aged 10 and 11, who were allegedly touched inappropriately by a man while they were in the sea near the pier.

The police were alerted to a disturbance in the area of Pier Approach at 3:45pm on Sunday, 25th June 2023. Upon their arrival, the officers were informed about the reported assaults. As a result of preliminary inquiries, a 43-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.

We are carrying out a detailed investigation into these incidents and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened who has not already spoken to police. I would also urge anyone with relevant mobile phone footage to please get in touch.
