Toys R Us marks grand return to Poole with shop-in-shop inside WHSmith

Toys R Us

After shutting its doors in 2018, the cherished toy brand Toys R Us is making a triumphant comeback in Dorset. The brand is set to launch within WHSmith in Falkland Square in Poole town centre today (Thursday, 29th June). The new Toys R Us shop-in-shop will feature a key range of products from a variety of toy brands, including Barbie, Bluey, Fisher Price, Hot Wheels, LEGO, Marvel, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Playmobil, and Star Wars.

In this newly reimagined space, children will have the opportunity to try out the latest toys at the demonstration tables in-store. Additionally, a lifesize sculpture of the brand’s mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe, will be present for memorable photo opportunities.

A grand opening event is scheduled for Saturday, July 8, from 9 am to 1 pm. Families are warmly invited to join in the celebration of the store’s launch. The WHSmith team will be joined by Geoffrey the Giraffe for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the new store, and Geoffrey will also be greeting store visitors throughout the morning.

As a special treat, the first 40 children who visit the store on the opening day will receive a free Toys R Us goody bag worth over £20. WHSmith will maintain its regular opening hours during the event.

The return of Toys R Us to Poole is a significant occasion, marking its re-emergence after the closure of its large store at Nuffield Industrial Estate in April 2018. The previous Toys R Us site was replaced with a Smyths Superstore and The Gym. Now, Toys R Us is set to delight a new generation of children and rekindle nostalgia for those who remember its past presence in Poole.
