Woman comes forward following dog attack in Shaftesbury

A woman has come forward following an appeal after a man was reportedly bitten by a dog in Shaftesbury.

On Friday, April 24 at approximately 6.45am, an older man in his 50s was walking in Breach Lane in Shaftesbury when an dog that wasn’t on the leash approached him and bit him on the leg.

It is reported that the dog’s owner apologised and stayed with the victim for a short while, before leaving.

The victim later attended hospital to have the wound dressed.

Following an appeal from the police, a local woman came forward and is helping police officers establish the full circumstances of the incident.

At this time, no arrests have been made.
