Police were called to the incident at 4.57pm, yesterday (22nd July).
The driver, who is a man from the area and aged 30, sustained serious injuries. Upon the arrival of the emergency services, the Air Ambulance was called and he was transported to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
Two passengers had minor injuries and were treated by paramedics.
Dorset Police closed the road to allow the situation to be dealt with, before reopening at 9:15pm.
We are carrying out an investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision and I am appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.
I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to check their footage for anything relevant.
