17-year-old Oscar Montgomery was snorkeling near Portland and has gone missing.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information to aid rescue efforts and help locate the missing teenager.

Oscar was last seen at Church Ope Cove in Portland on Wednesday at around 5pm, and was later reported missing at 7:37pm.

The official description released by Dorset Police describes him as white, slim and muscular, with brown hair and a small slit in his left eyebrow.

It is believed that he was wearing a dark coloured wetsuit, black flippers and a black snorkel.

So far, search efforts have been made by the HM Coastguard, two RNLI lifeboats, Dorset Search and Rescue teams, an NPAS (police) helicopter, Royal Navy helicopter, two Royal Navy warships and Dorset Police.

Unfortunately, the teenager is still missing and the search is continuing today.

We are extremely concerned for Oscar and I am appealing to anyone who may have knowledge as to his whereabouts to please contact police immediately.

I would be keen to hear from anyone who was out in the water in the area and recalls seeing a diver matching the description given and may have information that could help us find Oscar

Chief Inspector Lance Cliff, of Dorset Police
