Potential death of Durdle Door arch diver

Rescue helicopters land at Durdle door

There are unconfirmed reports that one of the 4 people who was injured at Durdle Door on Saturday 30th May has died.

Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are closed after helicopters landed on Durdle Door beach to help 3 individuals who were critically injured. The 4th is thought to have sustained a broken ankle.

Helicopters had to land on the beach while thousands were still there, as use of a stretcher was deemed as unsafe due to the gradient of the coastal path up from the beach.

The 4 people who jumped off of the 200 ft tall Durdle Door arch were cheered-on and encouraged by huge crowds on the beach.

Dorset Online received reports, but are awaiting official information, that one of the injured individuals has died.
