Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with further information about an incident where a 14-year-old was sexually assaulted in Weymouth earlier this month.

The young girl was sexually by The Esplanade near to the King’s Statue at around 2.40 pm on 4th August 2020.

She was standing on the pavement by The Esplanade when a man walked up behind her, lifted her top and touched her inappropriately “on her bottom over her clothing”.

Dorset Police are seeking a suspect who was described as white, in his mid-40s and bald. It is reported that he was wearing a blue t-shirt and pushing a pram or wheelchair.

This incident understandably left the victim feeling very distressed and we are determined to identify the man responsible.

I am particularly keen to speak to a group of three older women who I understand were walking near to the man at the time of the incident and are likely to have seen what took place.
