A 67-year-old man has sadly died as a result of a collision on Blandford Road, close to the turning for Kingston Lacy at around 1pm today (Wednesday 17th March).

Officers attended the scene along with the ambulance service. Sadly, the 67-year-old male motorcyclist from Poole died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

Road closures have been put in place to enable emergency services to attend the incident and scene investigators to conduct their examination.

We are investigating the circumstances of the collision and I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident to please come forward.

Also, I would urge anyone who has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please view it to see if they have captured anything relevant that might help our investigation.

We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures are in place.
