A milk tanker on the A354 near Blandford Forum caused traffic and delays when the breaks caught on fire.
Police were called at around 11.25am to reports that the brakes of a large milk tanker were on fire.
The tanker was travelling eastbound into Blandford, where the brakes likely seized up, and due to the dry conditions and friction, set alight.
Police confirmed that the road was cleared at 2pm.
We were called at 11.25am on Monday June 1 to a report of a vehicle on fire on the Badger Roundabout in Blandford.
It was reported that the wheel of a milk tanker was alight.
Officers attended to assist the fire service with traffic control while they dealt with the incident.
