Cunard’s MS Queen Victoria has joined five other ships seeking shelter in Weymouth Bay amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The six cruise ships been forced to drop anchors in Weymouth Bay, due to a halt in cruise holidays. Although there are no passengers onboard, it’s understood that all crew are still there and maintaining the ships.
MS Queen Victoria will be staying alongside another Cunard liner, called Queen Mary 2, as well as P&O ships Azura, Ventura, Aurora and Arcadia.
We have been informed that this is only a temporary stop, and most of the ships will be moving on to ports such as Southampton over the coming days and weeks. In the meantime, Weymouth’s residents and visitors will have interesting new views on the horizon.
