Overnight campers leave fire and litter at Studland

Mess left at Studland
Photos: Purbeck Police

Appalling and simply NOT ACCEPTABLE” is how Purbeck Police described one of their first jobs of the day at Studland.

Police officers attended the scene in the company of National Trust employees today, following the reports of overnight camping at Studland.

The campers left the scene in a disgusting mess, with a warm fire which wasn’t put out properly, tents, chairs and masses of plastic and litter.

Purbeck Police officers were glad to find personal details, which will be used to follow-up with the potential suspects. However, they signed off their statement saying that their next job is moving 30+ campers off South Beach, Studland.

It’s very sad to see people still treating one of Dorset’s loveliest beauty spots with such disrespect… very disappointing.
