Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue responded to a road traffic incident at 3:12 am this morning on the A352 in East Knighton – between Dorchester and Wareham.
Two fire engines and the ambulance service were called to the scene, where a Peugeot 108 collided with a deer.
The driver was taken to hospital as a result of injuries, and the road was closed until around 4.20am.
Wareham Fire Station said: “Our wildlife has become so used to not having cars on the road now we have to be extra careful.“
