Camp Bestival, another major Dorset event, has been cancelled as a result of concerns over COVID-19.
Organisers say they will return ‘stronger than ever with plenty of new surprises in store’.
The festival was due to be held at Lulworth Castle, Dorset, between July 30 to Sunday, August 2. However, this has now been postponed to Thursday, July 29 to Sunday, August 1, 2021.
Fatboy Slim and One Direction’s Liam Payne were due to attend this year’s event. Although the line-up for next year is to be confirmed, Dorset Online can report that tickets for the cancelled event will be redeemable for next year’s event.
The official statement from 13th May reads:
“Dear campers, Camp Bestival will no longer be taking place this year. We’ve been closely monitoring this unprecedented situation and it has become clear that it’s just not possible for this year’s festival to go ahead.
“Our gratitude goes out to the families and artists who were looking forward to it as much as we were, and we thank you for your patient understanding. We were so pleased with our line-up (including exciting new additions) as well as your reaction to it, and were so looking forward to welcoming everyone to Lulworth for our best ever Camp Bestival.
“Rest assured, we’ll be back at Lulworth Castle on 29th July – 1st August 2021, stronger than ever with plenty of new surprises in store and we hope to see you all there!
“We are working closely with Ticketmaster/Front Gate Tickets who will be in touch very soon to offer you the choice to retain your tickets and carry them over to next year, or alternatively process your full refund. So look out for an email from Ticketmaster/Front Gate Tickets and please only contact them if you have not been contacted after 7 days as they are very busy at this time.
“Stay safe, stay healthy, and we can’t wait to put on the best ever Camp Bestival for you in 2021. We love you all so much for supporting our beloved festival…We Are Family!”Camp Bestival
