BCP Council is inviting small business owners to apply for the second stage of BCP Council’s Local Discretionary Grant scheme after the criteria for applicants has been extended.

After completion of the first phase, BCP Council announced that they have received more than 800 applications and awarded only ÂŁ2 million of the ÂŁ4.3 million Local Discretionary Grant fund.

The new phase of the LDG will be open until 2nd August to any small businesses:

  • within the Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole area, and
  • which were trading before 11th March 2020, and
  • have a rateable value of below ÂŁ100,000, and
  • can demonstrate a significant fall in income because of the pandemic.

The restriction of 50% or more (of sales decline) has been removed, but the criteria have also been extended to include businesses which provide services from domestic premises.

Businesses who previously applied but weren’t successful are being encouraged to apply again under phase two.
