Dorset Council, Dorset Police, Lulworth Estate and South West Ambulance Trust met on 5th June and established a plan to manage visitors to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door.
The organisations want to reassure locals and other concerned stakeholders that last weekend’s events will not repeat, or at least, that the authorities are doing what they can to prevent the situation from happening again.
Some of the new measured will include a pre-booking system at all Lulworth Estate car parks.
The pre-booking system won’t be available until next weekend, but in the meantime, marshals will monitor overall visitor numbers and will limit the number of people going into Lulworth Estate and Durdle Door.
Other measures will include marshalling and civil enforcement officers who will issue fines to those parking illegally, but also to warn about the dangers of tombstoning and telling the public to take their litter home.
