“I suspect you may have thought this was coming, and it’s with much regret that we need to tell you our decision.

“As everyone is aware the situation with Covid19 is ever changing and the Cheese Festival Committee have been keeping a close watch on the situation.

“After much careful consideration we feel that the responsible position is to cancel the Festival for 2020. It is not a decision we have taken lightly, and we will miss the event as much as you. But by cancelling now we will be in a better position to hold the event in 2021.

“We are contacting all of our traders individually. We are very aware that the trading situation at present is very difficult for everyone. The majority of those at the Cheese Festival do have an online presence and will post orders, you can find details in the lists of exhibitors on our website – www.cheesefestival.co.uk.

“Your support of Cheese, Food Producers and Crafts is so very important at this time so if you have a hankering for a particular favourite cheese fix or a food or craft treat please do order online!

“It is hoped that we can perhaps have some kind of virtual festival on our Facebook page later in the year, to promote our producers and to help keep you in touch.

“We look forward to welcoming you back to Sturminster for the Cheese Festival on 11 & 12 September 2021. In the meantime please keep up to date with us via Facebook and stay safe.”
