Weymouth heath fires called “deliberate” by Dorset Police

Weymouth fires, Kestrel View
Weymouth Fire Station

Officers from Weymouth & Portland Police are appealing for information regarding two heath fires which they believe were started deliberately.

Officers responded to two fires near each other at the rear of Kestrel View at around 12:15am on 21st July.

Police reported that the fires damaged a 10 x 50 metres of land. However, no one was injured.

We have been liaising with the fire service and are making a number of enquiries in relation to this incident.

It is believed the fires were started deliberately and I would urge anyone with information about who is responsible, or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the fires, to please contact us.
